Peas ‘Asparagus Peas’
(Circa 16th Century) A culinary delight making a real comeback. The young leafless stem shoots can be eaten like asparagus and the light green pods (from bright crimson flowers) are best picked and eaten young (2.5cm) to avoid toughness. Tastes a bit like a cross between asparagus & fresh peas. Easily grown low bushy plant. Harvest August to September. 15-30cm (6-12”) between plants. Likes Full Sun.
