A compact, mat- or mound-forming, succulent, evergreen perennial with rosettes of rounded, fleshy, often purple-flushed, steel-blue leaves. Clusters of fragrant, crimson flowers are borne from July to September.

Grow in sharply drained soil in a sheltered site in full sun to part shade. It will reach height of 15cm and a spread of 45cm.
