Primula vialii
Red-hot-poker Primula. A rosette-forming, deciduous, short-lived perennial which has softly hairy, spear-shaped, pale green leaves. In summer, compact spikes of tubular blue-violet flowers open from brilliant red buds.
Grow in deep, humus-rich, moist, neutral to acid soils in partial shade. Will tolerate full sun if the soil remains moist at all times. It will reach a height of 30-60cm and a spread of 30cm.
