Baptisia australis
False Indigo. An upright, clump-forming, slowly spreading, perennial which has palmate leaves divided into three ovate, grey-green leaflets. From June to August, racemes of pea-like, dark-blue flowers are borne which are followed by dark grey seed pods.
Grow in open, well-drained, preferably sandy soil in full sun. It will reach a height of 1.5m and a spread of 1m.
