Harley Nursery is a small family-run business established in 1970 by Brian and Suzanne Baker, and run by the Murphy family since 1990. We are situated 2 miles outside the medieval market town of Much Wenlock, overlooking the Wenlock Edge, on the A458 between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth.
We pride ourselves on offering quality products and personal service, which we achieve by having in-depth knowledge of the plants we sell and offering bespoke advice for our customers – whether they are experienced horticulturalists or brand new to growing.
Since 2019, we have been 100% peat-free for all our own-grown stock as we are extremely mindful of the impact the horticulture industry has had, and continues to have, on our environment. Whilst we are not certified organic we grow with organic principles and are proud to offer advice for growing organically, being ever mindful of working alongside nature, wherever possible.
We have a passion for plants
We are a traditional plant nursery and are passionate about growing quality plants. We propagate a high percentage of our stock, either from seed, from cuttings taken on the nursery, by dividing mature plants, or from plug plants. These are grown on within our nursery beds, tunnels and shade house until the plants are of sufficient size to offer for sale. Plants not grown by us are supplied to us from other carefully selected growers to ensure high-quality plants, which are acclimatised to our climate and will thrive in our area.
We stock a wide range of ornamental and fruit trees, shrubs, climbers, hedging plants, soft fruit bushes, herbaceous, alpines as well as seasonal bedding and vegetable plants.

£4.50Black-eyed Susan. A deciduous perennial which has broadly ovate to narrowly ovate-lance-shaped, coarsely toothed, dark green leaves. In July, large, golden yellow flowerheads, 9-12cm across are borne.
Grow in moderately fertile, preferably heavy but well-drained soil which does not dry out, in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 60cm.

A clump-forming perennial which forms mounds of slightly-marbled, deep green foliage. Large saucer-shaped, violet-blue flowers with white centres are borne from June to September.
Grow in any good soil in sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 60cm and a spread of 80cm.

£6.75A refined, clump-forming perennial with deeply divided, mid-green foliage. From early to mid-summer, and often repeating into autumn, it produces elegant pincushion-like flowers in soft pink tones, surrounded by delicately veined, papery bracts. Long-flowering and highly attractive to pollinators, it also makes an excellent cut flower.
Grow in moist, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial shade or full sun where the soil does not dry out. Ideal for borders, cottage gardens and naturalistic planting. It will reach a height of 60-80cm and a spread of 45-60cm.

Local delivery is available within approximately 20 miles of the nursery.
Delivery is £5 for orders under £100 and FREE for orders of £100 or more.
