Caltha palustris

Kingcup. Marsh Marigold. A variable, marginal aquatic perennial with decumbent rhizomes taht produce kidney-shaped, toothed, dark green leaves. In spring, stems 30-45cm tall bear waxy yellow flowers.

Grow in an open site in rich, boggy soil in full sun at the water’s edge. It may grow in water 23cm deep for short periods, but prefers very shallow water or bog conditions. It will reach a height of 10-40cm and a spread of 45cm
