Limonium coriarium

Limonium coriarium

Sea Lavender. A striking, clump-forming perennial with a basal rosette of broad, leathery, dark green leaves, from which rise airy, much-branched stems. From mid to late summer, masses of tiny lavender-blue flowers are carried in open, branching sprays, forming a delicate haze above the foliage. Excellent for cutting and drying, the blooms retain their colour well.

Grow in well-drained, preferably sandy or chalky soil in full sun. Particularly suited to coastal, gravel or dry borders where it can thrive in poor soils. It will reach a height of 60-90cm and a spread of 60-75cm.
