Polystichum setiferum

Soft Shield Fern. An attractive, evergreen, native fern which has shuttlecocks of soft, dark green fronds that emerge upright before unfurling and falling softly open.

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in partial to full shade. Protect crowns from winter wet. Mulch the crown to prevent it from drying out. It will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 90cm.
