The creamy white flesh is firm and has a light, sweet, pear-like flavour. An eater which also bakes well. Its season of use is from September to December (Newbury 19th Century). Flowering Group 3.

    A large apple which has a smooth and shining, dark grass-green skin which has a few russet dots and lines. The flesh is greenish and is soft and tender with a mild acidity. It is an excellent culinary apple which picks in October and can be used to Christmas. Flowering Group 3.

    Also know as ‘King of the Pippins’. A medium sized apple which has a greenish yellow-gold skin with an orange/red flush, and marked with a little rough brown russet. It is a firm, crisp, juicy, and sugary apple which has white flesh with a yellowish tinge. Picks in late August to early September. If cooked it will keep its shape and colour. Can also be used for cider. (UK, 19th Century). Flowering Group 3.
