    Devil’s Bite. A clump-forming, deciduous perennial which has sturdy, hairy stems bearing narrowly ovate to lance-shaped, rough, dark green leaves. From July to October, dense spikes of reddish-purple flowerheads are borne.

    Grow in moist soil but well-drained soil in sun or part-shade. It will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 50cm.
