Arbutus

Strawberry Tree. A spreading, shrubby, evergreen tree with rough, red shedding bark and toothed, glossy, mid-green leaves. Small white pink tinged flowers are borne from August to September which are followed by red strawberry like fruits from August to October.

Grow in fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil, in a sheltered site in full sun. Protect from cold winds even when mature. It will reach a height and spread of 8m.
