Cobnuts are a cultivated variety of hazelnut. Cultivated hazelnuts, sometimes known as filberts, have been grown in gardens and orchards since at least the 16th century.
Cobnut trees are hardy and grow well on a wide range of soils except those that are waterlogged. Grow in moderately fertile, moist, well-drained neutral to slightly alkaline soils, they will also grow well in acid soils.
A large nut which doesn’t have a good texture but has a strong flavour. It is a good pollinator for other varieties. It is pollinated by Gunslebert.
Containerised Trees are supplied from September to August. Bare Root Trees are supplied from November to March
