Stokesia

An upright, deciduous perennial with elliptic to narrowly ovate, leathery, softly spiny, dark green leaves. Large, fringed, violet-blue flowers are borne from early summer to early autumn.

Grow in light, fertile, moist but well-drained, acid soil in full sun. It will reach a height of 40cm and a spread of 30cm.
