Western Mugwort. A striking, upright, clump-forming perennial valued for its silky, silver-grey foliage, with narrow leaves that create a cool, luminous effect in the border. Its softly textured, aromatic leaves bring contrast and brightness, particularly when paired with darker or more vibrant planting. From July to August, slender stems carry small, inconspicuous yellowish flower heads, though it is primarily grown for its foliage rather than its blooms.

Grow in well-drained, light soil in full sun. Drought tolerant once established and ideal for gravel gardens, prairie-style planting and hot, dry borders. It will reach a height of 60-100cm and a spread of 60-90cm.
