A medium to very large apple which has a greenish yellow to yellow skin which has a brownish to orange red flush on the exposed side and red stripes. The flesh cooks to a cream, juicy puree which is brisk. When baked the flesh is creamy and frothy. Late in the season it makes a brisk dessert apple. It picks in mid-October and can be used from November to March. (Derbyshire 19th Century). Flowering Group 5.

A medium to large apple which has a dull orange red flush and broken red stripes over dull green skin. Most of the surface is patched and mottled with moderately fine grey brown russet. The creamy white flesh is firm, fine-textured, a little juicy, and sweet, with a pleasant Blenheim-like flavour. It picks in mid-October and can be used from November to January. (European 18th Century). Flowering Group 4.
