Redcurrants are long-lived, they are easy to grow, and from an established bush it is possible to expect to have a yield of 4-5kg.
Redcurrants are best grown in an open and sunny site which has shelter from wind and isn’t a frost pocket. They will grow on a north facing wall, however they will fruit later and will have less flavour than a bush grown in a sunny site. Redcurrants need to be grown in fertile, well-drained soil which is slightly acid to neutral.
Redcurrants are available pre-packed from late-October to March. They are available in containers all year round.
