Pterostyrax

Epaulette Tree. A spreading tree which has peeling, aromatic grey bark and oblong to ovate, pale green leaves. Bell-shaped, fragrant white flowers are borne in pandant panicles in early to midsummer which are followed by oblong, 5-ribbed fruit which are covered in yellow-brown bristles.

Grow in deep, fertile, well-drained, neutral to acid soil in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 15m and a spread of 12m.
