Description
Betula papyrifera
Canoe Birch. Paper Birch. A conical tree which has white bark which peels in thin layers and pale orange-brown when newly exposed. The ovate, dark green leaves are up to 10cm long and turn yellow to orange in autumn. Deciduous.
Grows in moist but well-drained soil in full sun or in dappled shade. It will reach an ultimate height of over 20m and a spread of 10m.
