Filipendula rubra

Queen of the Prairies. An upright, clump-forming perennial which has pinnate, vine-like, irregularly cut, bright green leaves. In early and midsummer, branching red stems bear crowded corymbs to 15cm across of fragrant, deep peach-pink flowers.

Grow in moderately fertile, leafy, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 1.8-2.5m and a spread of 1.2m.
