A bulbous perennial which has narrow, upright, sword-shaped, grey-green leaves. In March and April, small and graceful flowers are borne which are soft blue with white accents, featuring delicate veining on the falls (the lower petals) and upright standards (the upper petals). Its compact size and delicate, pale blue flowers make it perfect for edging borders, adding interest to rock gardens, or planting in small groups in borders or containers for a vivid spring display.
Grow in well drained, neutral or slightly alkaline soil in full sun. It will reach a height of 20-30cm and a spread of 10-15cm.
