An erect, evergreen shrub with stout, upright branches and blue-green pinnate leaves. Fragrant, pale yellow flowers are borne from late autumn to early spring; these are followed by ovoid, blue-purple berries.

Grow in moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in full or partial shade. They will tolerate a sunny position if the soil isn’t too dry. It will reach a height of 2m and a spread of 3m.
