Plumcot ‘Flavor King’

A cross between a Japanese plum and an apricot. It combines the best qualities of both species into one crop. The oval-shaped fruits are red-purple in colour with a smooth skin. The flesh is dark blood red with a spicy flavour, juicy and delicious plum-like taste. They make the perfect dessert fruit for eating freshly picked from the tree. In early spring attractive white flowers that should be protected from the frosts are borne. It can be grown outside in a sunny position in the south or the south-east of the country, but like apricots would need to be grown under glass in other areas. It is not self fertile so would need to be pollinated by self-fertile Plums and Gages.

Containerised Trees are supplied from September to August. Bare Root Trees are supplied from November to March.
