Prunus ‘Matsumae-beni-murasaki’ [Candy Floss]

A medium sized tree of upright, spreading habit which has coppery-bronze foliage in May. It bears very large, double, deep-pink flowers which have attractively fringed petals which age to the texture of crushed velvet. Deciduous.

Grow in moderately fertile, moist, well-drained soil in full sun. It will reach a height of 4m and a spread of 3m in 10 years.
