A compact, clump-forming perennial which has slightly hairy, lance-shaped, mid-green leaves. From early summer to early autumn, erect racemes of deep violet, hooded flowers are borne.
Grow in light, moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or light dappled shade. It will reach a height of 50cm and a spread of 30cm.
