Harley Nursery is a small family-run business established in 1970 by Brian and Suzanne Baker, and run by the Murphy family since 1990. We are situated 2 miles outside the medieval market town of Much Wenlock, overlooking the Wenlock Edge, on the A458 between Shrewsbury and Bridgnorth.
We pride ourselves on offering quality products and personal service, which we achieve by having in-depth knowledge of the plants we sell and offering bespoke advice for our customers – whether they are experienced horticulturalists or brand new to growing.
Since 2019, we have been 100% peat-free for all our own-grown stock as we are extremely mindful of the impact the horticulture industry has had, and continues to have, on our environment. Whilst we are not certified organic we grow with organic principles and are proud to offer advice for growing organically, being ever mindful of working alongside nature, wherever possible.
We have a passion for plants
We are a traditional plant nursery and are passionate about growing quality plants. We propagate a high percentage of our stock, either from seed, from cuttings taken on the nursery, by dividing mature plants, or from plug plants. These are grown on within our nursery beds, tunnels and shade house until the plants are of sufficient size to offer for sale. Plants not grown by us are supplied to us from other carefully selected growers to ensure high-quality plants, which are acclimatised to our climate and will thrive in our area.
We stock a wide range of ornamental and fruit trees, shrubs, climbers, hedging plants, soft fruit bushes, herbaceous, alpines as well as seasonal bedding and vegetable plants.

£4.50Honesty. An upright annual or biennial which has ovate to heart-shaped, toothed, dark grey-green leaves. Sporadically from late spring to early summer, leafy racemes of violet-blue flowers are borne which are followed by flat, green seed pods. When ripe, the outer covers peel away to expose silvery, paper-like discs.
Grow in fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. Self seeds. It will reach a height of 90cm and a spread of 75cm.

£4.00Ragged Robin. An upright, branching, clump-forming perennial which has lance-shaped, deep-green leaves. From late spring to early summer clusters of finely cut, white flowers are borne.
Grow in fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 45cm and a spread of 30cm.

£9.50Spiderwort. A tufted, clump-forming perennial which has erect branching stems with long lance-shaped, dark green leaves. From early summer to early autumn, three-petalled soft pink flowers with a soft pink centre and yellow stamens are borne in clusters at the end of shoots.
Grow in moist, fertile soil in full sun or partial shade. Cut back flowered stems to encourage new flowers. It will reach a height and spread of 50cm.

Grow in fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. It will reach a height of 70cm and a spread of 45cm.

Delivery is £5.00 under £100.00 and free over £100.00. Anyone wishing to place an order with us outside of these areas can use the click & collect option and collect the order from us.
