    The variety traditionally used in Spanish tapas. They are used whilst green & immature and are very mild, however, 1 in 10 may be hot – a game of chilli roulette! The chilli plants can reach 1-1.2m tall and will continue to produce peppers so long as the pods are regularly picked. Spanish Tapas recipes usually roast them in olive oil and sprinkle with salt but they are excellent fresh/for stir-fries or stuffing. Make great pickled chillies too.

    A robust-growing variety that produces large, smooth, green fruits which ripen to an intense bright red. Very reliable and well suited to the UK’s short growing season. This is a good all-round chilli that can be eaten green or left to mature to red; excellent for eating raw, incorporating into salsas, using in soups and stews, or stuffing with cheese and roasting. Fruits measure an average of 2-3″ (5-7.5 cm) in length and 1″ (2.5 cm) in diameter. The plant has a compact and bushy habit, growing 2-3 feet (60-90 cm) tall with a spread of 1-1 feet (30-45 cm). The fruits start purple and ripen to red with a hot heat and are usually about 1 – 2″ (2.5 – 5 cm) long and oval in shape. The plant reaches approximately 24″ (60 cm) so is fairly compact.     An easy to grow, low maintenance plant that produces top quality unusual dark yellow courgettes on a semi-compact plant. Yellow courgettes have a thinner skin & slightly sweeter flavour than green courgettes. Best harvested when about 15-20cm long as the skin is still thin and the flesh is still creamy inside. It is very productive and gives a heavy yield over a long period and will just keep cropping if fruits are regularly picked when young (from early July till October frosts). Plant 70cm apart.

Regionally found in the Lombardian area of Italy, it is a very productive plant with an open habit that makes it ever so easy to harvest & keeps the likelihood of disease low. Medium early, slightly ribbed, about 18-20cm in length, a superb allotment variety. Restaurant quality courgette. Superb, outdoor crop. Allow 90cm between plants in a sheltered, sunny position.
