Pak Choi has been grown in China for about 1500 years. It is used whole when it is about 10cm tall or grown larger so that the individual leaves can be used. Pak Choi can be used raw in salads but when it is cooked, it is slightly spicy in taste. Joi Choi is an excellent variety with dark green leaves and pure white stems which grow uniformly and neatly. It is slow to bolt and has a good frost resistance. Vigorous hybrid, white stemmed variety, matures to 25-35cm, dense heavy heads, slow-bolting, pure white petioles (leaf stalks) and rich green leaves. Suitable for baby leaf.

  • Parsley 'Hamburg Parsley Halblange' Out of Stock
    £3.00

(Very Old pre 1600’s) A biennial parsley subspecies with much thicker roots than types cultivated for their leaves & is grown for its beige, stout plump little carrot-like root, which tastes like a carrot-celery, kohl robi cross. Used in parts of Europe in soups, stews & simply as a vegetable & may replace celeriac, parsnips, turnips, or carrots in dishes. Leaves used in the same way as regular parsley. Even though it looks similar to the parsnip, it tastes quite different & the similarity of the names is a coincidence.
