The pinnate leaves are made up of long green leaflets which turn yellow orange in autumn. It bears large clusters of white flowers in spring which are followed by small, bright red berries in autumn. The tree gets its name from the long curved, blue-black winter buds which look like a raven’s bill. Deciduous.
