A small to medium sized tree which has an upright, oval shape which was raised from seeds collected in South Korea. The pinnate leaves are made up of long green leaflets which turn yellow orange in autumn. It bears large clusters of white flowers in spring which are followed by small, bright red berries in autumn. The tree gets its name from the long curved, blue-black winter buds which look like a raven’s bill. Deciduous.
Grow in moderately fertile, humus-rich, well-drained soil in full sun or light shade. It will reach a height of 4m and a spread of 3m in 10 years.
