Description
Acanthus mollis
Bear’s Breeches. A clump-forming perennial which has glossy, ornate, dark green leaves. In summer the purple-tinted stems bear 1m long racemes of white- or pink-veined flowers which have green-purple bracts.
Grow in any well-drained soil in sun or shade. It will reach a height of 1.5-1.8m and a spread of 90cm.
