Bear’s Breeches. A clump-forming perennial which has glossy, ornate, dark green leaves often deeply cut to the midribs, with spiny margins. In summer the purple-tinted stems bear 1m long racemes of pure white flowers which have purple bracts.
Grow in any well-drained soil in sun or shade. It will reach a height of 1.5m and a spread of 60-90cm.
