Japanese Maple.  A bushy, rounded, deciduous shrub or small tree which has palmate, mid-green leaves, yellow in spring and turning yellow-orange in autumn. Inconspicuous, reddish-purple flowers are borne in spring which are followed by winged, red-flushed, green seed pods. Deciduous.

Grows in moist but well drained lime-free soils in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height and spread of 3m.
