Description
Aesculus hippocastanum
Horse Chestnut. A vigorous, spreading rounded, deciduous tree which has palmately-lobed mid green leaves that turn yellow, red or orange in autumn. Large white flowers are borne in summer which are followed by spiny brown chestnuts.
Grow in deep, fertile, moist but well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 25m and a spread of 20m.
