Alnus glutinosa ‘Imperialis’
Cut-leaved Alder. A conical tree with deeply cut, lobed, mid-green leaves, more so than A. glutinosa ‘Laciniata’. Pendent yellow-brown male catkins are borne from January to March before the leaves emerge.
Grow in moderately fertile, moist but well-drained soil in full-sun. It will reach a height of 15m and a spread of 8m.
