Pheasant’s Tail Grass. A loosely tufted, rhizomatous evergreen perennial with arching, flat or inrolled, leathery, dark green leaves to 30cm long, streaked orange-brown in summer, and turning orange-brown all over in winter. From June to September, pendant panicles to 75cm long of purplish green spikelets are borne.
Grow in moderately fertile, medium to light, well-drained soil in full sun. It will reach a height of up 1m and a spread of 1.2m.

A dense, clump-forming grass with an upright habit which has fine dark green leaves. In early summer, sturdy stems form which hold the graceful arching green flowerheads which fade to buff.
Grow in fertile, moist soil in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 2m and a spread of 60cm.

A tufted and slowly colony forming perennial which has dense, arching, purple-black, slightly glossy, grassy leaves. Small purple flowers in summer are followed by glossy, black berries.
Grow in any ordinary garden soil in partial shade, although it will grow in full sun in moist soil. It will reach a height of 30cm and a spread of 50cm.

Giant Feather Grass. Golden Oats. A densely tufted, evergreen to semi-evergreen perennial which forms lax clumps of linear, inrolled, mid-green leaves to 70cm long. In summer, bristled, silvery, purplish green spikelets, turning gold when ripe are borne in long-stemmed panicles.
Grow in moderately fertile, medium to light, well-drained soil in full sun. It will reach a height of up to 2.5m and a spread of 1.2m.
