Apple ‘Kingston Black’

Bittersharp. A small to medium sized apple which has yellow green skin which is flushed, flecked, and slightly striped very dark red, almost black, which is dry, rather rough with russet spreading slightly to the cheek. The reddened flesh is bittersharp, mildly acidic with some astringency, rich and fruity. The fruit is ripe in early November. (Somerset 19th Century) Flowering Group 5
