This stunning kale variety has a deep red textured leaf and a striking pink mid vein running through the leaf. A versatile variety that is suitable for multi-cut production. Best suited to baby leaf but will also work well as a mature plant. Plant spacings 60 x 60cm. Harvest in autumn and winter.

Each fruit is the size of a small apple, hence this commonly being known as the ‘Apple Cucumber’ – but as its fruit is a pale yellow in colour when ready to eat it’s actually called ‘Crystal Lemon’. Reputed to be more digestible than many other cucumbers, this has a mild sweet flavour and is very juicy – just make sure the cucumbers don’t get too large or take on a more golden colour as the skins will become bitter. This is also an excellent variety for pickling also. The habit of the plant can be quite sprawling but they can be tied into a trellis or something similar. There is no need to remove male flowers on this variety. Recommended by the RHS to be an excellent attractant and nectar source for bees and other beneficial insects. Plant two per growbag.
