Cornus mas

Cornelian Cherry. A vigorous, spreading, deciduous shrub or small tree which has ovate, dark green leaves which turn red-purple in autumn. Yellow flowers are produced in small umbels in late winter before the leaves. Oblong-ellipsoid, fleshy, bright red, edible fruit are produced in late summer.

Grow in well-drained soil in sun or partial shade. It will reach a height and spread of 5m.
