A small tree of open habit with green stems, leaves turn red in autumn. Scarlet-red fruits split to reveal orange seeds. Deciduous.

Grow in full sun in moist, well, drained soils. In partial shade it will tolerate drier soil. It will reach a height of 3m and a spread of 2.5m. It will form a hedge from 1.2-2m tall and once established will have an average annual growth of 45cm.
