Bowman’s Root. Indian Physic. An Erect perennial which has branched, red-tinted stems and alternate, three leafed, coarsely toothed, conspicuously veined, bronze-green leaves which turn a fiery red in autumn. In June star-shaped white flowers held in russet-red cups on long wiry stems are borne which are followed by attractive seedheads.

Grow in fertile, slightly acid to neutral, moist but well-drained soil in partial shade. It will reach a height of 1m and a spread of 60cm.
