Maidenhair Tree. An upright tree which is columnar when young then wide spreading with age. It has furrowed, dull grey bark. The mid- to yellow-green leaves are flat and fan-shaped. Catkin-like male flowers are borne in clusters, the round female flowers which are borne singularly, produce plum-like, yellow-green fruit in autumn. Deciduous.
Grow in any fertile, well-drained soil in full sun. It will reach a height of up to 30m and a spread of up to 8m.
