Red-Hot Poker. An upright, evergreen to semi-evergreen perennial which has strap-shaped, mid- to dark green leaves. From June to September, sturdy, erect, deep bronze stems bear spikes of dull orange buds which open to tubular, cream flowers.

Grow in deep, fertile, humus-rich soil, moist but well-drained soil, in full sun or partial shade. It will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 1m.
