John Innes composts have had a special place in British gardening since the design of the recipes in the 1930s. Originally based on a blend of sterilised loam, sand and peat, the John Innes Manufacturers’ Association (JIMA), with the approval of Trading Standards has recently incorporated peat free versions within its rules, acknowledging a general industry move away from the use of peat.

Mature plant compost. Ideal for potting established plants, trees, shrubs, climbers, fruit bushes, vines and plants which are to remain in the pot for a long time. Friable and free flowing texture

Suitable for use by vegan gardeners.
