A graceful, upright, clump-forming deciduous grass with fine, narrow green foliage forming a neat tuft at the base, from which tall, slender stems rise to create an elegant, airy silhouette. From mid to late summer, delicate, open panicles of purplish flowers are held high above the foliage, gradually maturing to warm golden tones that persist into autumn.

Grow in moist but well-drained, slightly acidic soil in full sun or light shade. Ideal for naturalistic planting, borders or damp areas. It will reach a height of 120–150cm and a spread of 40–60cm.
