Royal Fern. An upright, clump-forming, deciduous fern which has erect stems of hairy, reddish-brown, lacy-textured, lance-shaped young fronds that age to fresh green. In autumn the fronds turn vibrant shades of golden-yellow before fading to brown.

Grow in moist, humus-rich, preferably acid soil, in light dappled shade, it will grow in fun sun in wetter soils. It will reach a height of 2m and a spread of 4m.
