Melissa officinalis. A bushy perennial with broadly ovate, lemon-scented leaves with scalloped edges, and leafy spikes of creamy-white or pale purple flowers in summer. The flowers are attractive to bees, reflected in one of the plant’s common names (bee balm), and the lemon-scented leaves are delicious in salads, soups and also great for tea making. It will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 60cm.

Melissa officinalis ‘Mandarine’. Introducing an alternative to the traditional Lemon Balm. This mint-like perennial has a five lobed dark green leaves which have pronounced mandarin orange scent. The leaves are often used for herbal teas, infusions, and pot pourri. Ideal in mixed containers as the plants have a trailing habit.
Grow in a sunny position. It will reach a height of 30cm with a mounding habit.
