Hyssopus officinalis. A hardy, semi evergreen, perennial herb with slim dark green foliage which has beautiful royal blue flowers that will attract plenty of bees from midsummer to autumn. Plant seedlings out during the summer 60cm apart. Benefits from being cut back hard in spring or summer as otherwise can become woody. It will reach a height and spread of 60cm.
Mentha viridis. Similar to spearmint, this mint has dark green, roughly oval shaped leaves, with serrated margins. Suitable for culinary use. Vigorous growth. Recommended for pot growing due to self seeding.

The soft blue-green leaves are ideal for adding their rich flavour to meats and stuffing. The flavour of the leaves will be best when growing sage in warm, dry conditions.
