Arguably the best white pumpkin available producing good yields of 15 pound white pumpkins with less blueing than any other variety. The flesh is also very sweet making it perfect for baking or pies. Excellent for carving or painting, looks fantastic when internally lit for Halloween.

Extra-large white coloured pumpkins, which retain their colour well after maturity. Although the outside is ghostly white, which makes them great for decorating and creating displays and Halloween decorations, their insides are a deep orange colour. Fruits can reach 15kg upwards! Flattish, rounded heads, compact hearts and a soft texture. These can be grown nearly all year, have a long cropping period, are slow to bolt and lack the uniformity of more modern varieties. Space approximately 30cm apart.

As the name suggests, this is a purple-topped variety with a white base below soil level. It is a very popular variety with amateur growers producing good quality flattish roots. Turnips can be harvested from March to December, although early turnips are said to be best for flavour. Spacing between plants in the row: 10-15cm

A Ridge-type cross that can be grown as either Greenhouse or Outside. First grown in Mr. Lows of an Uxbridge nursery in 1889, a cross between Purley Pink Hero & Verdant Green. A good beginners or amateur’s cucumber, from 6 to 8 inches in length, somewhat thick, smooth, perfectly straight & short neck, very easily grown. Leave the flowers on. Keep them picked and they’ll keep producing. Height – up to 300cm.

One of those reliable old favourite varieties that Grandad grew to produce an excellent crop of tasty, thick, short solid white stems with broad dark flags through the winter (Oct- Mar). also if Harvested young, as baby leeks, these have a fantastically sweet flavour which doesn’t falter if they are left to mature.
