An erect, many branched perennial which has ovate to lance-shaped, notched, wrinkled, mid-green leaves on purple stems. From midsummer to early autumn rich violet-blue flowers borne.
Grow in light, moderately fertile, humus-rich, moist but well-drained soil in full sun or light dappled shade. It will reach a height of 50cm and a spread of 30cm.
They are formally known as Perovskia ‘Blue Spire’. A deciduous, upright sub-shrub with grey-white stems. Spikes of lavender-blue flowers from August to September above deeply cut grey-green leaves.
Grow in poor to moderately fertile soil which is well-drained in full sun. They tolerate chalk and coastal conditions. It will reach a height of 1.2m and a spread of 1m.
