    A medium sized apple which has distinctive mottled red skin over a yellow background. A nearly solid red coloration develops only if the fruit is well exposed to the sun. The fruit surface has shallow dimples and numerous, small lenticels with green russeting at the stem end. The cream coloured flesh is exceptionally crisp and juicy, sub-acid and ranges from mild and well-balanced to strongly aromatic, depending on maturity. Harvest in October. The flesh is greenish white, tender, and crisp and has a rich, refreshing, perfumed juice. It ripens in the first week of August but it doesn’t keep so needs to be eaten straight from the tree throughout August. (Sligo, Ireland, 1819). Flowering Group 2.
